2. REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration will open Wednesday January 30th at 12pm. Registration will close Tuesday February 5th at 5pm.
3. REGISTRATION FEES
TP Debate - $50 per Team
LD Debate - $35 per Debater
IE - $25 for the first 2 speech events and $10 for each event after that.
All tournament fees are non-refundable.
Any registrations accepted after registration closes will be subject to a $25 late fee.
4. Payments
The S.U.N. Tournament will be using Paypal to process tournament fees.
5. Meals
The private company that the school uses to provide their meals will be servicing our tournament. In order for it to be financially viable for this company to be able to do this for us, no outside food will be allowed in the cafeteria. Meals must be purchased in advance. Meal items can not be purchased a la carte at the tournament. The cafeteria will be open throughout the day selling a variety of snacks and beverages. Complimentary hot beverages will be available in the cafeteria for your convenience.

6.Judge Requirements
We require, as part of the registration process for your child, that you to register to judge for 3 rounds per day. You will be able to do this on the judge registration page of the website. You must still be available for other rounds if needed.
If there is the possibility that you might not come back to the tournament on Saturday, and would like your child to receive their ballots before you leave, then we require you to register to judge 4 rounds on Thursday and 4 rounds on Friday. When parents want to leave on Friday night and receive their children(s) ballots, that creates an extra burden for our tab room and leaves us short of judges on Saturday. To help alleviate some of this, we ask that you fulfill your judging requirement before you leave. No exceptions will be made.
7. Team Building Opportunities
As a parent of a S.U.N. Tournament participant, you are an important part of the S.U.N. team and critical to it's success. Information will be available soon how you can get involved in key areas at the tournament.
8. Extra-Curricula Activities
Plans are in the works for some activities on Friday night. Details will be forthcoming, but plan to stick around :-)
9. Dress Code
The Tournament Director will adjudicate disputes regarding dress using Section III of the NCFCA Qualifying Tournament Participation General Rules. Participants should view this document prior to attending the tournament. It can be found at http://www.ncfca.org.
Please be in complete tournament attire for the awards ceremony if you anticipate receiving any awards, as without it you will not be allowed on stage.
10. Host Housing
We have a limited amount of host housing available that will be provided on a first come first served basis. Please be aware that most of the host homes will be 30 min. to 1 hour away from the facility. Contact Anne Smith at (978)372-1339 or ewsjfamily@juno.com for more information.
11. Directions
From Route 2 Take the RT-140 exit - Exit 24B - toward Ashburnham/Winchendon for 0.3 miles. Merge onto W Main St / MA-140 for 2.7 miles. Turn left onto Pearl Street/MA-101 for 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Catherine St. for 0.2 miles. End at 200 Catherine St.
12. Accommodations
The “Official Hotel” of the S.U.N. Qualifying Tournament is the Best Western Royal Plaza. It is located approximately 8.5 miles from the facility at 150 Royal Plaza Drive, Fitchburg, MA 01420, right off Rt. 2. From the Hotel, get on Rt. 2 West and follow the directions to the School above. It is a great facility with many amenities, including; a restaurant, indoor pool and workout room. Rooms are $79 dollars (taxes not included) for up to 4 people. A continental breakfast is included.
